QUICK LINKS:
Welcome to Brentor Church!
Welcome to the website for the Parish of Brent Tor! Based around the villages of North and South Brentor, our parish also covers West Blackdown and Liddaton. We are part of the Church of England, in the Diocese of Exeter, and are closely related to the churches of St Eustachius in Tavistock and St Paul in Gulworthy.
Brent Tor has two churches – our official Parish Church is St Michael de Rupe, an iconic 12th century church on top of the Tor; we also have Christ Church, in the village of North Brentor.
Coronavirus 2020
St Paul writes, ‘neither death nor life… nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
Both churches are now open daily for private prayer; and there are services in the parish every week:
Christ Church – 9:45am every Sunday
St Michael’s – 6pm every Sunday until September
However, if you are shielding, self isolating, or unable to attend for any reason, we are still recording one service a week and posting them on this website – and you are very welcome to join us virtually!
You can access our streamed services here and family activities here.
The pastoral ministry of the Church has continued, albeit in different ways; speaking words of hope to those who are going through difficult times.

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23
The Church in Brent Tor is a small, friendly and thriving community, with regular events as well as weekly services at one or both of our churches.
While public services and events are suspended, we will be recording services with the absolute minimum number of people, and broadcasting them here.
Take a look around the site to find out more about us and what we do.
If you have any questions, queries or comments, please let us know!
We collect personal data from worshippers as part of the Government Test and Trace scheme. You can learn more about this here.
