One Friday Easter Ascent

In recent years, we have been commemorating Good Friday with an ascent up Brent Tor, to the church of St Michael at the top. On the way, members of the church community carry out dramatised re-enactments of the events of the Easter story, in full costume. The scenes are based on the Stations of the Cross, an ancient Christian tribute during Holy Week, and now updated for the 21st century.

We will be going whatever the weather (!) and the Ascent will be followed by a short service of reflection and contemplation in St Michael’s.

This year, the service starts at 2pm on Good Friday 30th March 2018. Meet in the car park at the bottom; the Ascent should be finished by 3pm.

All are welcome! If anyone would like a part (speaking or in the crowd scenes), please contact David.

The Brentor Easter Ascent is part of the One Friday movement.
